Re: Anyone tried the Tascam iu2?

oh, that is unfortunate (for two reasons). Does the 48V-LED light up when you activate phantom power? If not, then the switch could be the culprit. Also remember to connect the mic first and enable the switch after (that's one should do anyway with condenser mics), and have the iU2 powered by the iP...

Re: Focusrite itrack solo?

please accept my apologies, my mistake. There is an increasing number of spam bots in internet forums lately, and I really thought this was one of those posts. You used the same wording (copy paste) that I've read three times already, which led me to the wrong conclusion. Sorry about that.

Re: Anyone tried the Tascam iu2?

did you follow the advices above? Besides, it's all in the printed manual. In case you don't have it anymore, you can download a pdf from the Tascam website. If your settings are all correct and the problem is reproducible, call Tascam technical support.

Re: No sound - just distortion

exactly. Since there seem to be surprisingly many people having clipping problems with Auria, let me tell you or remind you of the most important thing in audio engineering: it's all about levels. Learn to use your gear, always have an eye on the meters, and repeat a recording if the signals are cli...

Re: Anyone tried the Tascam iu2?

remember that you always have to set your input levels right. That's the job of the sound engineer, and that is you. :) Set it below 0dB to leave some room for spikes, or insert a limiter.

Re: Anyone tried the Tascam iu2?

a few days ago i used the mic inputs for the first time... like a forum member mentioned in another thread, it's probably only a switch or two at the bottom of the iU2 that needs to be set correctly. For dynamic mics set the input to 'mic', and for condenser mics switch on phantom power and supply ...

Re: Recut session

thanks a lot for the information, that was interesting. And a good real-life example of Auria's potential. File conversions are necessary sometimes, but as long as it works it's fine. I also converted OMF to AAF successfully and brought a Cubase project into Auria this way. And as Auria might become...

Re: Recut session

it appears automation doesn't move with the clip. it does not, and I believe this is something that makes it difficult to re-arrange a project. But it has been mentioned before, and the developers took notice of it. Hopefully it will be fixed in a future update. I only made a quick test with video ...

Re: auria used as an effekt rack to play live

it works very well, with low latency. To quickly switch between different settings, you can prepare several channels and record arm the ones you need. OT: the search function in this forum is not very good. There is already at least one thread where this has been discussed in detail, but I was not a...

Re: CLOCKING... MASTER/SLAVE

at this time there is no option to sync Auria with a DAW (if that's what you're asking). I tried once to use the app Magellan (who has MIDI and WIST) to start Auria from my DAW, but it didn't work. But MIDI is something that is planned in a future update. Then it should be possible to have Auria as ...

Re: Compatible interfaces

you're absolutely right, we are in paradise these days. :D I said 'relatively' because the iU2 is not 100% reliable. Not even 50%. I come from the analog world where every connection transmits the signal, or I can fix the cable if it doesn't. With modern stuff I can do more, but don't have this reli...

Re: Compatible interfaces

no I didn't know that, despite extensive research. I thought it is just a matter of hardware. But it makes sense, I somehow seem to understand Apple now, the CCK is made to offload photos from cameras, it's not intended for long music sessions and audio interfaces. Thank you for letting me know, now...

Re: About the 50% price off sale of Auria today...

in my opinion, this is a bad idea to do such sales. No quality software or app has this. A quality software has a price, and that's it. Maybe a student version for young ones, educational versions, stuff like that. Reducing the price for one day reminds me of a lottery, a game of chance. It gives th...
